*cue angelic chorus*

it's like christmas morning!! in august! curious minnie is curious.

my cintiq arrived! here it sits on my makeshift desk (the real workdesk is still in the garage).  as soon as i got my hands on photoshop, i was pretty much sitting at this glass coffee table for 4 hours.

...goodbye!!! see you in a few hours!

hello, heat wave!

THIS WEATHER!  why i'm melting my summer away in georgia, i'm dreaming of the sweet, cool appalachian mountains...

© 2011 shannon snowthis illustration was for Square Carousel's "home away from home" challenge.  there should be a lot of neat illustrations up in the next few days.

also, keep an eye for my work in BUST magazine!  my illustration will be accompanying the Oct/Nov issue's Pop Tart article.

long time, no see?

well, hellooo there! it has been a hot minute, hasn't it?  i've just been in hawaii, no big deal or anything.

... but now i'm back to reality, and there will be no more of this not-updating-blog nonsense.  although that doesn't mean that i haven't been busy.  some other illustrators and i have formed an illustration collective - a blog where we post weekly challenges - and it just launched last week!  it's very cool, definitely worth a look or few - Square Carousel Illustration Collective.

first challenge from Square Carousel!and here's some exciting news... check me out in WNC magazine.

about time~

my portfolio is finally up!!  i think it looks so clean, so nice.  i'm really pleased with it.  although... i seem to be having trouble importing all my old blog entries into my new blog... but no big deal! at least the art is online now.

last day of my internship

i can’t believe it’s been 6 months since i started interning with painter/illustrator katherine sandoz.  without a doubt, she’s been the most helpful, encouraging, and informative person i’ve met during my time at SCAD.  it’s a little sad that the internship is over, but i’m leaving it a far more successful illustrator than before.

published!

finally got my copy of worcester magazine! last march i did an illustration for their annual poetry issue.  maybe you’ll recognize (clockwise) shakespeare, allen ginsberg, elizabeth barret browning, poe, and emily dickinson.

also, a piece of mine was accepted into SCAD’s communication arts show! the show encompasses different pieces from all the majors within the school of communication arts, which includes illustration, advertising, graphic design, and sequential arts.

oh yeah! if you’re in the asheville area, keep an eye out for me in WNC magazine, which is coming out next month.
