Yeah! My clients were very happy with their final product. I wish them a beautiful wedding and marriage. I'm really looking forward to doing more invititations in the future.
happy new year!
Happy new year, y'all! I've been working on an invitation for a Renaissance-inspired wedding.
These are just a few ideas I've been working on to send to my clients.
A piece for Girl's Life Magazine
Here's a preview for a piece I recently completed for Girl's Life Magazine. Chun Kim, the art director, was awesome to work with. Can't wait to see the full illustration in the February/March issue! Y'all keep your eyes peeled for it.
s
holiday lettering
I've been having a lot of fun in Illustrator lately. I've been doing a lot more lettering, in preparation for a paper goods and print shop I'm going to start. Invitations, greeting cards, annoucements - you name it.
Also, I'm working on a piece for Girl's Life magazine. More on that coming soon!
SAINT JOBS
i've been working on this one for a while, my tribute to the late CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs. in the end i went with the final image being black and white, which really just made the image stronger overall. cheers to Steve, the Saint of Gadgets!
from savannah to kentucky, i've been spotting my illustration in Bust magazine all over the place!
The Republican Madhouse
Michele Bachmann as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (clockwise from bottom: Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and Jon Huntsman), or as i like to call it: the Republican Madhouse. this was done for Square Carousel's "Fairy Tale with a Twist" challenge, and i just couldn't help myself. also, i did think i needed some more political figures in my portfolio. hello, New York Times?
see the full size image in my portfolio.
bridezillas
the October/November issue of BUST magazine is finally out!
the article is about how brides have been portrayed negatively in television in film lately, and how bridesmaids are the ones we seem to identify with. i got my copy in the mail last week - it looks great!
overall, a really fun illustration to work on. thanks, BUST!
sissy babies logo
this was a fun project for my boyfriend's (illustrator/painter Britt Spencer) kickball team, the "Sissy Babies." i hand-lettered the text, inked it in, and then vectorized and smoothed out the lines in Illustrator. logo work is something i'm trying to work more of into my portfolio. AND it's always really cool to see my stuff on products!
Britt screenprinted the logo onto the shirts - i think the red on pink looks amAAAzzzinggg. today was the team's first game of the season; everybody looked great in their shirts!! GOOO SISSY BABIES!!!
They Draw and Travel (Drink?)
the last challenge over at Square Carousel was to submit a piece for They Draw and Travel, a super cool collection of illustrated maps from around the world.
so what we have here is a 20-something's guide to the (limited, but lively) downtown Savannah nightlife. the overall look was inspired by toile fabric.
